In Neurocapitalism, body data is no longer incidental but instead it is a primary monetary asset. Biometric sensors, AI-driven interpretation, and networked infrastructures have turned our biological signals into commodities that are mined and traded with increasing precision. As of now we already live in a post-digital reality where the boundary between physical and digital has amalgamated. Technology is no longer an external tool augmenting our bodies but a co-evolving force that even shapes we bodies think, feel, and behave. This seminar investigates the body as a hybrid site where carbon-based tissue and machine systems merge. We will examine the power dynamics within technology and investigate how platforms capture and control corporal data. Together we will investigate how this produces new regimes of visibility, ownership, and power. As artists and designers, we will work with and against these systems and explore body data as raw material for critical cultural practice.
